Yes! Most insurance companies cover GLP-1 medications for weight-loss. In the rare case that your insurance doesn’t cover your medicine and you don’t want to pay out-of-pocket, our doctors will prescribe you with a super effective generic version of Contrave which will cost less than $25 / month.
No. Insurance is not required to sign-up for NextMed and receive weight-loss treatment. If you do not have insurance and want a GLP-1 drug we will help you find the lowest cost pharmacy near you and send you a discount card to lower the out-of-pocket drug cost. Alternatively, our doctors may choose to prescribe you with generic Contrave which is as effective as GLP-1’s in many studies and costs less than $25 / month without insurance. If you do not have insurance simply email out customer support team when you begin the program and let them know whether or not you want a GLP-1 or would prefer the lower cost Contrave. Uninsured customers also will not have to pay for lab work on the program.
Your insurance will be accepted by the lab for your bloodwork and by your pharmacy for your medication. Our program costs do not include the cost of medication or lab work which will be billed to your insurance. You can submit your receipt to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement which may allow for up to 70% reimbursement of our program costs.
When you sign up for NextMed, we will work with your insurance company to get an FDA-approved drug approved by your plan. After your deductible is met, we guarantee that you will pay no more than $25 / month as a copay for your medication when combined with a manufacturer’s savings card. We have a dedicated team that handles all of this for you, so you don’t have to. If you do not have insurance or in the rare case that your plan does not cover any weight-loss medication, you will be offered an FDA-approved compound known as Contrave if eligible, which shows similar weight-loss effects as GLP-1 drugs. This compound is a mixture of two generic pills and thus will also be less than $25 / month with or without insurance. Our expert weight-loss doctors only prescribe the most effective (and safe) drugs which we help you secure at the lowest possible cost; you will never be offered metformin or phentermine on our platform.
